John Vastag

Managing Director

John Vastag is a Managing Director with over 30 years of senior leadership experience in the corporate world, the non-profit sector and state government, John has extensive knowledge of operations, finance and healthcare policy.

A native of North Dakota, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Minot State University. John has spent a majority of his career as CEO for agencies providing services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and in senior leadership roles in acute healthcare specializing in healthcare policy and healthcare insurance.

Most recently, John served as the Executive Director for the Health Policy Consortium which was made up of the four largest hospitals in North Dakota. John was responsible for writing, getting legislation passed and implementing all the health policies impacting the acute care facilities. As a senior executive for Blue Cross Blue Shield, John served as the Director of Health and Medical Transformation where he led the effort to change from the traditional fee for services based system to a quality of care based system. Most recently John served as CEO for Development Homes, Inc. a large nonprofit serving over 200 individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. John had a team of over 450 staff and over a $40 million budget.

Currently John and his bride Char reside in Montrose Colorado where they are enjoying the wonderful outdoor life southwest Colorado has to offer. When away from the office, John enjoys time with his family, spending time in his woodworking shop and the great outdoors hiking, fishing and hunting.
