Michele Hickey

Senior Director of Executive Search

Michele Hickey, CFRE has more than 25 years of experience as a nonprofit professional. Most recently, she served as Director of Recruitment for Dennis C. Miller Associates. Michele began her career in the arts and humanities at organizations such as The Joffrey Ballet and Fraunces Tavern Museum. She expanded into higher education with development positions at Bloomfield College and Fairleigh Dickinson University. In 2003, she formed Silver Lining Communications, LLC, a boutique writing services firm that assists nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders with projects ranging from white papers and case statements to web content and design. Clients have included the New Jersey Historical Society, Barnard College, Felician University, Marymount Manhattan College, NJIT, Seton Hall University, and Oliver Scholars.

In addition, Michele is an adjunct instructor for the Fairleigh Dickinson University Master’s in Administrative Science program and has led workshops for the University’s Center for Excellence in Leadership, Governance, and Philanthropy. Michele also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Network for Responsible Public Policy.

Michele has an MS in Professional and Technical Communication from NJIT, an MA in Nonprofit Management from the New School University, a BA in Business from Rutgers University, and has been an AFP Certified Fund Raising Executive since 1998.
